Former President Bill Clinton said he was "dumbfounded" after hearing that Republican Karl Rove questioned whether Hillary suffered brain damage in 2012 when she was hospitalized for a blood clot.
"First they said she faked her concussion and now they say she is auditioning for her part on ‘The Walking Dead,’” Clinton told PBS's Gwen Ifill on Wednesday.
While Rove later backtracked and said he was only making a statement questioning her overall health, Bill says there's no truth to any of it. He points out that at the time, Hillary's critics said her health scare was simply a ploy to delay her testimony on the attacks in Benghazi.
"I gotta give him credit. That embodies the old saying that consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds," Clinton said. "First they said she faked her concussion, now they say she's auditioning for a part on 'The Walking Dead.' Whatever it takes."
He also said he was "sort of dumbfounded" by it all.
"They went to all this trouble to say she staged what was a terrible concussion that required six months of very serious work to get over...Now they say she has brain damage."
